About.
I have chosen to remain fully engaged in the design and delivery of buildings, from the first discussions through creative and technical development to completion on site. For me, this continuity is deeply rewarding and ensures that the design intent is faithfully carried through to the finished building. In my experience, the client–architect relationship is very important, and aligning goals and aspirations from the outset is key to a successful project.
Early in my career, I worked with a number of small and medium-sized practices, contributing to several RIBA award-winning projects. In 1998, I established AMA, specialising in residential projects across south London, Hampshire, and the South East. These have included new-build houses, residential developments, and alterations and extensions to existing homes.
I have also collaborated on a range of projects, which I found very rewarding, but I have been careful to keep the practice small and remain closely involved at the forefront of both design and delivery.
My solutions are design-led, working closely with clients from inception to completion, employing a collaborative and creative approach. I aim to add value with inspired concepts that are creative, simple and pragmatic and which exceed the clients' aspirations. I take great pride in both my work and the high level of service I offer.
Designs are context driven, contemporary and, where appropriate, respectful of tradition. I see each project as an opportunity to produce thoughtful and composed architecture that positively transforms the experiences of its users and the wider community.
My projects are characterised by a sensitive approach to materials and an intuitive understanding of construction and detail.
